Put-in-Bay's favorite pirate entertainer Mike "Mad Dog" Adams has been a Round House Bar island tradition since 1980. Performing throughout North America and the Caribbean, "Mad Dog" has opened concerts for many legendary performers, including Johnny Cash, Alabama, Loretta Lynn, Charlie Daniels and Starship. He has also appeared on Comedy Central, Sunday Funnies, Nightshift and local radio and television across the US. He has recorded four albums of original music, two comedy albums, and is a featured fictional/nonfictional charatcer in Bob Adamov's latest mystery action novel, "The Other Side of Hell". Many consider Patrick Huston Dailey the "grandaddy" of Put-in-Bay performers. Dailey, who entertains at the Boathouse Bar and Grill on Hartford Avenue, downtown Put in Bay, has traveled the United States performing for small gatherings and large crowds. Dailey seems to like his gig at Put-in-Bay and has lived and entertained on South Bass Island for more than 30 years. He has recorded more than a dozen cds, all original work. Funny and entertaining, this singer-songwriter has been an anchor at Put-in-Bay since the early 1980's. His signature song, "Put-in-Bay," is just as popular today as it was three decades ago.

Island audiences have been leaving after Ray Fogg’s adult oriented music/comedy shows with a smile on their face for over 20 years. The Sweetwater Recording artist has released 6 CDs showcasing his considerable songwriting talents, with songs about time-honored island traditions as well as lots of material that is just plain funny. The Detroit News said Fogg “weaves music, comedy and heartfelt songs about island life into an entertaining show.” The Columbus Dispatch called him “one of Put-in-Bay’s most popular entertainers.” Cleveland’s Sun Papers said, “What attracts people to Fogg's shows is his ability to write, and better yet ad lib, edgy comical songs and anecdotes perfectly suited to a beer-drinking crowd." Fogg performs most weekend nights through the season at the Brewery Show Room at 8:30 pm, where you can also enjoy dinner with the show. Tickets are available at the door. Bob Gatewood is the front man for the popular Cleveland-based Calabash Band. Gatewood & Calabash have been regulars at Put-in-Bay's popular Roundhouse Bar on Delaware Avenue, downtown Put in Bay, for more than two decades. Gatewood has recorded several island favorites, including "Friends of the Bay". He is one of Put in Bay's veteran performers and can often be seen playing at other island establishments during the season and off-season. Performing for more than 40 years -- and since 1988 at Put-in-Bay, Westside Steve Simmons is the daytime anchor at the Crescent Tavern's Patio Bar downtown on Delaware Avenue. For the first two decades the self-proclaimed Skipper of "The Lake Erie Booze Patrol" was the front man for Cleveland's rock legends Easy Street Band. The Put-in-Bay Arts Council is a non-profit 501-3(c) organization that promotes the arts in the Put in Bay community. In January of 2000 a small band of islanders interested in community theater formed the Put-in-Bay Dramatic Society and produced Ayn Rand's "The Night of January 16th" at the Put in Bay Town Hall's Opera House. The Put-in-Bay Arts Council was organized two years later amd the group has expanded its programs to include a variety of free conerts and art programs and workshops. |
