In the market for an historic island vehicle, a boat to crusie around the bay or a few Put-in-Bay memories from the past?
The highest bidders will walk away with these on Saturday, July 10, at the Lake Erie Islands Historical Society's annual Island Auction at the Crescent Pavilion off Delaware Avenue downtown.
Viewing will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the main auction at 4 p.m. There will be two Silent Auctions during the day. The first begins at 2 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m. and the second begins at 4 and ends at 6 p.m.
There will also be drawing every 20 minutes (beginning at 2 p.m.) for door prizes for those who have registered for a bidding paddle.
Food and drinks will be available all afternoon at the auction site by the Crescent Tavern Restaurant.
Drive off in a 1985 Jeep CJ7 with 39,500 miles that has only left the island once in 25 winters. It is in great shape with both hard and soft tops, 4 speed, 4 cylinder, 2.5 litre engine and spare tire.
If you'd rather escape by water there is a 1968 Inca 24-foot powerboat with twin Mercruiser 120 Merc I outdrives. The vessel also has a fish finder and marine radio and has been maintained here at Put-in-Bay by Bass Island Supply.
Among the Put-in-Bay memorabilia are framed photographs by island photographer Kelly Faris, several items that came from the John Brown Jr. and T.B. Alexander estates, an antique souvenir plate, some wonderful artwork by island artists John Crites, an Adirondak chair made by island craftsman Bob Smith, a several lots of chairs taken from the Jose ReRivera estate.
