Boating & Dockage


Put-in-Bay’s downtown public marina has three large docks. The Village of Put-in-Bay leases dock space on A and C docks. DeRivera Park, where the village’s bathhouse is located, leases docking space on B Dock. The DeRivera Park Trust use the revenue from B Dock for the maintenance of the park area downtown.

All three public marina docks have mandatory rafting rules and watercraft may be required to raft off up to four vessels abreast.

The Village of Put-in-Bay operates A and C Docks in the public marina on Put-in-Bay’s downtown waterfront, overlooking Gibraltar Island, and nearby Middle Bass Island. Daily rates vary by boat size.  Overnight rates for boats up to 45 feet is $1.95 per foot.  Boats over 45 feet, the rate is $2.25 per foot.  There is an additional $5 fee for jet skis and rubber rafts in the water, or on the swim platform. The Village monitors channel 69. Dockmaster offices are located on Bay View Avenue at the foot of each dock. There are designated areas for trash removal.

DeRivera Park Trust operates B Dock in the downtown public marina and maintains DeRivera Park. Daily rates vary, overnight rate is $1.75 per foot weekdays and weekends. There is an additional $5 fee for jet skis and rubber rafts whether in the water or on the swim platform. Dock B monitors channel 68. Dockmaster offices are located in the Village Bath House, located in the park across from the public docks. Boats can begin docking at 8 a.m. if dockage is available. Dock time is from the time the boat is docked until 11 a.m. the following day.

Oak Point State Park on Peach Point offers public docking on an honor’s system. All boaters must register immediately after docking. Rates are for the full time or any part thereof. The daily rate is $10 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the overnight rate is $20 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Located on the northwestern tip of South Bass Island, Oak Point State Park has picnic tables and grills, and comfort facilities. The park offers a spectacular view of Put-in-Bay’s downtown harbor and waterfront, and of Gibraltar Island.



Three marinas and the Put-in-Bay Township Port Authority’s Mooring Buoys also offer dockage to boaters. Most do not accept reservations and availability is on a first come basis. Please contact the marina owner directly for more information.

Located at the Boardwalk, adjacent to the public marina, dockage is reserved for Park Place Boat Club members first. Non-members may be able to dock when there is space and may make reservations Sun-Thur. The Boardwalk docks can handle vessels up to 33 feet. The Boardwalk monitors channel 10. Reservations are taken during the week.  Non-members are handled on a first-come basis.  Overnight rate is $2.00 per foot. No reservation taken for weekends.

The former Fox’s Dock is now the Park Place Boating Club, located adjacent to The Keys, a collection of restaurants and bars overlooking Put-in-Bay’s downtown harbor and the Perry Memorial.  Monitoring Channel 79, dockage is reserved for Park Place Boat Club members first.  Non-members may reserve Sun-Thur.

Miller Marina, located in the western area of Put-in-Bay’s downtown harbor, provides day and overnight dockage and monitors channel 74. The daily rate is $1.50 per foot Sun-Thur, noon until 6 pm.  Overnight rate is $2.00 per foot. There is a two night minimum on Fri & Sat nights, from Memorial to Labor Day.  Check out is 11 am. The Marina has a quiet, clean atmosphere, suitable for all guests, especially families. Just two blocks from the downtown district, you are within walking distance of restaurants, Perry’s Monument, taverns, carry-outs, grocery store, and bike rentals. Golf carts are available for rent at Miller Marina. There are new shower and restroom facilities, an outdoor pavilion, a picnic and grill area, and ice, bottled water and soft drinks available on the premises.

Mooring Buoys in Downtown Harbor

Eighty-one mooring buoys in Put-in-Bay Harbor are maintained by the Put-in-Bay Township Port Authority and are available for rent.  The Boardwalk Water Taxi monitors channel 10 (see below) and provides unlimited shuttle service between the buoys and the Boardwalk dock. Boats up to 49 feet – Daily rate till 6pm:  Mon-Thur $25 / Fri-Sun & holidays $30.  Overnight rate per night: Sun-Thur $30 / Fri-Sat & holidays $40. Boats 50-100 feet – Daily rate till 6pm: $40.  Overnight rate per night: Sun-Thur $45 / Fri-Sat & holidays $50.

The Boardwalk Harbor Taxi provides shuttle service between the mooring buoys and the Doller Dock (Boardwalk). Water taxi hours are 8 am to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 7 am to 1 am on Friday and Saturday.  No tours. Monitoring channel 10.

The village operates a public bathhouse for boaters and visitors in DeRivera Park, downtown across from the public marina. The bathhouse has restroom and shower facilities, and 2 tokens can be purchased for $5. Each token is good for about an 8-minute shower. DeRivera Park’s office is also located within the facility which is maintained by the Village of Put-in-Bay.




Put-in-Bay is a favorite starting point for many boat fishermen who bring their watercraft to the island in the spring and fall so they are close to the action. Miller Boat Line is the only ferry service that hauls vehicles. There is a public boat ramp located on Bay View Avenue, near the corner of Hartford Avenue and adjacent to Fox’s Dock (Jet Express Dock), at Put-in-Bay’s public marina downtown. A public boat ramp is also located at South Bass Island State Park, located at the end of Catawba Avenue, and about 2 miles from the downtown district.
