Put-in-Bay Road Race Reunion

From 1953 to 59 and again in 1963, dozens of MGs, Triumphs, Austin Healeys, Jaguars and other small racing cars rounded the corner of Delaware and Toledo avenues at Turn One of the Put-in-Bay Road Races.  Former racers will bring their vintage cars back to Put-in-Bay for the 6th Annual Put-in-Bay Road Race Reunion this August 31-September 2. On Sunday, September 6 there will be a Children’s Regency Ball at 2:00 pm at Put-in-Bay. Spend your Labor Day listening to period music, learning new dance moves and sporting Regency fashions. Sunday Antique Car Parade

There are more antique and classic vehicles per capita on Put-in-Bay than anywhere else in the world (we think)!  Historic and classic cars parade the island roadways and downtown every Sunday afternoon.  The parade begins out of town and winds its way through downtown about 2:15 pm each Sunday.  The first parade starts in early May.

Historic Rum Tasting

Parks Canada Historic Interpreter, Robin Matin, will discuss the history of rum and how rum rations were used as payment during the War of 1812.  Come and taste the different rum rations and sample period food.  Tickets are $30.00 per person, which includes at least 4 rum tastings and appetizers.  Tickets can be purchased online at

Perry’s Victory Heritage Festival

The 202nd Anniversary of the Battle of Lake Erie is a celebration of history, art and music and also a celebration of Perry’s naval victory and two centuries of peace shared by the United States, Canada and Great Britain. A War of 1812 Military encampment is open 10 am to 5 pm each day all weekend.
