Pyrate Fest VI
June 20 @ 6:00 pm - June 23 @ 8:00 pm
Put-in-Bay’s sixth annual Pyrate Fest begins Friday afternoon with the traditional Pyrate Invasion as the Pyrate King returns for four days of mayhem in his quest to find his stolen treasure on South Bass Island.Saturday’s activities include an Adult Costume Contest with some great prizes, a Kids Costume Contest with prize bags for the kids, and the Pyrate Village and Pyrate Market Place in DeRivera Park.
The US Brig Niagara will be here for the festival to help protect the port from pyrates. We cannot safely shoot off fireworks while Niagara is in port so we will not have a fireworks display this year.
Come and meet the more than 50 men and women who dress in period clothing and demonstrate aspects of a pyrate’s life in the early 1800’s, and sell period-related wares on Saturday and Sunday.
Monday concludes the 4-day festival with the annual Cardboard Boat Races that attract a crowd of 400 or more to the downtown docks to watch nearly 20 entries race for the coveted “Cardboard Trophy.”
Saturday’s Adult Pyrate Costume Contest winner will find themselves and a friend on a 4-day vacation to the Cayman Islands during their Pirate Fest in November. To register for the Adult Costume Contest, click on the Pyrate Fest Costume Contest Registration Form.
